Why I Mine Bitcoin
I mine Bitcoin because I believe it's important for the game theoretical viability of the network. What if the government bans Bitcoin mining? Well, the hadh-rate will probably plummet. The Bitcoin mining corporations will go out of business, taken down by an offer they can't refuse ...Not without going to jail anyway.
This little miner of mine...I'm gonna let it hash. It won't be profitable unless I get lucky like a leprechaun. I read it takes about 100 years on average for a BitAxe to find a block. In common parlance, this is known as a long-shot. It's basically a gambling game that keeps the network alive. I will run my little miner to help keep the peer-to-peer network I want to see on the world.
Sometimes people running these little miners do hit the Bitcoin lotto held 144 times per day on average. The prize is equal to 3.125 Bitcoin plus fees people pay to have their digital signatures timestamped. I love stories like this.

I tried to be an Enlish Teacher. I was told I was too honest. I decided if being a teacher required me to lie, the job was not for me. This quote vomes from a letter from a Birmingham Jail. This letter is in the English Standards, the curriculum with the stamp of approval from the fiat education system. Quoting this phrase from Martin Luther King Jr. showed me that you really can't take too much stock in these standards. They want you to ush good government this and good government that. They don't want you to find the one quote from Martin Luther King Jr. that basically states anarchy is better than tyranny.
When I say anarchy, I don't mean what most people think I mean. The news-watchers only hear the word anarchy when people riot with molotav cocktails to get the junk their inflating fiat can no longer afford. Anarchy means "without a ruler." Andreas Antonopolis coined the phrase, "Rules without rulers." That's the thing. Bitcoin has rules even though it has no rulers. Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer electronic cash system. This system uses rules beyond the scope of man-made legislation. Bitcoin is a set of rules written in the language of mathematics. Math is a natural law. FDR banned gold in 1933 but he could not write a law that changed the atomic number from 79 to 78. If he did, nobody would start calling platinum gold and gold platinum. These numbers have a definition that cannot be arbitrarily changed by newspeak. Nor can they find every miner on earth. The state of California banned electronic devices from schools. How effective do you think that law is? Think back to a time when you were a teenager. Would you follow that rule? Did the 18th amendment work?
Government Does Ban Technology
China banned mining. They threatened to do it many times before. Every time. The price downslid to kingdom-come levels. I don't remember the exact prices, but in 2016 or 2017 I saw the price jump to $5,000 for the first time. Then rumors of the China mining ban were spread. The price dropped to $2,500. It was something like that. Don't quote me on the exact numbers, but it was quite the roller-coaster.
Now the price crashed again. It's down 33.75% from the all-time high as of block height 924,712. The Government says Bitmain Asics are a Security Hole.

The laws written in math do not comply with the laws of man. Dictators cannot dictate 2=2=5 and expect the Universe to comply. Rules witout rulers is the same thing my first grade teacher always told me to do after each adition problem, "check your work."
If I get lucky and win a whole block, I am rewarded no matter what laws make my computers illegal. If one of my peers wins a block, my node will assure it is a valid block. It will check the winning miners work.
The Intelligence commitee repor says the chips could potentially be controlled by China, but they have not presented any evidence of this. This has not shown up on any PenTests. I talk to the people who Pen test this stuff all the time. They don't seem to worry. If the Sennat committee has evidence to the contrary, they should responsobly disclose this vulnerability, not create sensationalist headlines written by people who couldn't decipher uryyb jbeyq.
I don't see any vulerabilities on the chips I use to mine bitcoin. Could they exist? Sure, but I remain sceptical until this information is verified and shared with the public. If it's Quantum, we have backup plans like BIP360. There are ways to mitigagte the quantum threat already. Nevertheless, it will not disuade us from our goal of sepearing the money from the state, nor will government bans.
